915 Trans - Factory Oil Cooler?

Brain Trust: I have recently purchased another 911 (makes 7 now) that has some pretty cool add ons. It started life as an 84 Carrera Cabriolet. One of the PO threw a BUNCH of money at a slant wide body kit and added turbo trailing arms and turbo brakes/rotors. As I'm poking around underneath trying to figure out the extent of the mods, I come across an oil cooler on the 915 tranny like I have never seen before. I have added photos of the cute little oil cooler for reference. It seems to pull gear oil out of the sump, through the finned cooler, and spray on the ring gear.

Who has seen one like this and is this some kind of factory mod?

Pics of car also!!

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks, very cool!! All of my other 915 trannys are without this little jewel.

I wonder if this is a European cabriolet? What other distingishing items would prove that this began as a euro car?
