Ideas for Repairing Bumperettes

One of my bumperettes needs help. Was in the condition in the photos when I bought the car 12 years ago. Any repair tips? Of course I'm also considering just removing them as I do like that look. Thanks in advance.

use some masking tape to outline the cracks and fill with black rtv or your favorite sealer...

I would fill in the cracks with windshield urethane as it is incredibly strong and flexible, along with a screw to bring the loose ends back in. Fill the screw head in with the urethane then re-spray the bumperette with SEM bumper/trim paint.

I actually like the look of them - they make the car appear slightly longer. I wish someone would make a 'lightweight' version.

If you at the replacement cost you realize that they are filled with gold.

They can be had on the used market fairly cheaply , got mine at Hershey for 80 bucks.

Just keep in mind Carrera ones and SC ones are different. the bolt pattern is slightly off.

I agree! I thought about drilling out the back side to lighten them up but i dont want to ruin them. Good quality fiberglass ones would be nice
