Windshield washer runs dry in 1/2 pint!

I know the windshield washer capacity is over 2 gallons, but mine "runs dry" after about 1/2 pint from full. Works perfectly as long as I keep topping it up!
How easy is it to get to the reservoir and see if the feed pipe is too short or buckled, etc.?
Any suggestions, please!

Left front wheel well (in front of wheel), very easy to check, screw on/off cap w/lines at bottle, and you're right it is a big reservoir.

This is curious! As shown, the pump sucks water through 2b, and forces it to the windshield nozzles via 2c. But 2b terminates at the TOP of the reservoir, at the left nipple on 32!! It is the CENTER nipple that connects to the suction pipe 2 and filter 3 in my car.

The long tube (above) is 2b, which goes to the left nipple and cannot get water unless the level is up to 32, and 2g is to center nipple and on to 2 and 3.
So it seems the drawing and my car are wrong! It should be that water from the reservoir is drawn up 2 through the center nipple on 32, to 2b, and the pump forces it to the nozzles via 2c.
(drain tube 2g should just return into the TOP of reservoir, via LEFT nipple, and overflow tube 2a is OK connected to the RIGHT nipple)
If I am right and the drawing is wrong, all I need to do is reverse the pipes at 32 going to the left and center nipples.

This I did, and now everything works fine!! This is crazy - either the drawing is wrong or they changed part 32 , which I doubt!
