1969 911T Engine Compartment Wiring Questions

Hello all. Finishing the restoration of my engine compartment and needed a little help with some wiring. Can anyone comment on the following? Sorry in advance for some of the pics/lighting. Here is the electric panel and alternator set-up for reference:

1.) Red wire (from Starter motor terminal 50). Does this go to Alternator B+ terminal or the B+ terminal on the engine compartment electric panel? Wire is long enough to reach panel and that seems like the natural fit. (wiring diagrams seem to point to both as options)

2.) Red w/longitundal white stripe (from Alternator B+) Confirming that this goes to electric panel B+? Seems like a natural fit as the 3-pin that is attached ends up at the Voltage regulator nearby (red/black/brown)

2a.) Alternator harness (near voltage regulator 3-pin red/black/brown) has a blue wire with male pin connector. Any idea what this is or where it goes?

3.) Metal ground + Blue/Ylw stripe (from Perma-Tune). Wire goes to Coil term 15. Where did the factory ground this? Coil bracket stud?

4.) Metal ground + Black (from Permatune). Wire goes to Distributor term 1. Where did the factory ground this? Engine block?

5.) Black/Prpl stripe (from firewall 4-pin connector). My notes say this goes to Distributor terminal 1 (like above) but I only have one male connector on my distributor. how do both of these - the black and black/purple attach?

6.) A previous owner attached a 10-12 gauge ground strap to the engine oil breather cover bolt (1 of the 4) any idea what that might be?

Thanks!
Kevin

Starter to alternator to main panel in that order.

See above answer

Blue wire goes to D+ terminal, there should be a 3 pin remote voltage regulator to plug it in to. Edit, bottom of the middle rectangular box on your fuse panel perhaps?

3.) Metal ground + Blue/Ylw stripe (from Perma-Tune). Wire goes to Coil term 15. Where did the factory ground this? Coil bracket stud?
yes

4.) Metal ground + Black (from Permatune). Wire goes to Distributor term 1. Where did the factory ground this? Engine block?
yes

5.) Black/Prpl stripe (from firewall 4-pin connector). My notes say this goes to Distributor terminal 1 (like above) but I only have one male connector on my distributor. how do both of these - the black and black/purple attach?
purple/black wire should have a piggyback male spade on it for the black wire to connect ot, purple connects to the dizzy, search for a .250 piggyback spade connector.

6.) A previous owner attached a 10-12 gauge ground strap to the engine oil breather cover bolt (1 of the 4) any idea what that might be?
ground strap from engine case to negative on the distributor

Thanks!
Kevin

Kevin,

Has your Tacho been upgraded? I see that you have the Intermediate unit fitted to your panel (small metal can) which drives or converts the CDI output to something that your Tacho can read.

I'm on the iPad at the moment so can't post photos sorry. But it has a three wires brown(earth) blue/yellow ( A on coil) and one from the CDI can't remember the color sorry. I can check tomorrow.

I'm assuming the purmatune is the same as the CDI but considering your notes the purmatune may pick up off the points. My 69t has the Black/purple hooked from the loom to the Intermediate unit.

If you search for or have SL35 it shows the hook up of the Intermediate unit.

Where you have the earth from the coil, move the braided line to the other coil clamp away from the fan!
