Boost Sender Fix

This is just informational for anyone who may think their stock boost sender is failing. I thought I was going to have to spend $100 to replace mine but I was able to get it working again with a little persuasion.

I put the sender in a cup of WD-40 overnight with the sender’s opening face up. After that, I lightly tapped it a few times on a block of wood and then used a bicycle pump on the opening to flex the diaphragm. After a few cycles of tap and blow, the diaphragm freed up and it started working perfectly. You can tell if you are making progress by attaching an analog ohm meter across the electrical connection and the threads on the metal body. Zero ohms is zero pressure. As you blow in air, the meter should read about 30 ohms - depending on how much pressure there is.

[yeah I know the stock boost gauge is junk but it's still nice to have it working]
