starting problem possible flooding

Intermittently I am experiencing issues with starting my car. If I don't push the key long enough the car will start to start, but will then die. If I then try to start again it is totally unable to and I must wait, behaves as though the engine were flooded? Also, If I accidentally stall from not giving enough gas when letting clutch out, it will also have this difficulty restarting.

Any advice on how to correct this. Such a pain in the ass I was thinking of just upgrading to an msd. thanks for any advice!

What year is your car?

The car is a 77, but has 3.0 79sc euro engine.

I think this starting problem happened after i took it to the porsche mechanic and asked him to correct a bit of surging/lugging that I felt at around 2750 RPM in second and third gears when the car was cold.
