Right, completely off topic, I appear to have made the news in the UK and will be working hard to clear my name, then back to car stuff...

Thanks, mercifully I’m surrounded by good people and since it went public a lot of people I served with, many from foreign militaries have gotten back in touch.

In between war crimes allegations, I remembered I have a car to build.

Once it’s apart I need to get the definitive engine rebuild kit.

Here is one for sale in the UK, but does it have everything I’d need?

The car is back in the Awesome trim shop for some upgrades.

The original carpet choice was a mistake, which was my mistake and not Awesome’s. They are retrimming a Volvo P1800 with a better carpet, but slightly darker than mine.

Once we put a sample in, it all looked too brown in there, so I might do something radical and add a green carpet.

Also the soundproofing will be significantly improved too.

Whilst the engine is being rebuilt I thought it a good time to strip and rebuild the fuel system. Nice and shiny now after 42 years.

Look great! Did you get those injectors cleaned and flow tested?

Everything got cleaned, but not flow tested.

Been trying to fit/justify an s30 for a long time now...Turbo six, LS swap, bone stock...These things are just cool.

What's going on with the re-trim? Looks like you went from a layer of black CLD to a layer of silver CLD?

The carpet I originally chose was poor quality which is why it needed replacing as it was only in a few months and it was wearing holes in it. The black soundproofing did not do a very good job, so putting on another layer of the silent coat silver stuff, then a sound mat on top of that.

It might not be immediately apparent from the photos but the difference in the quality of the carpet is vast.
