Renspeed quality and fitment ?
Hey guys, did a search and there seems to be a few older posts about renspeed fibreglass quality and fitment but was hoping to hear from others that may have purchased from them recently and what the general thoughts were. Ill be buying many of the rsr backdate panels and wanted to be sure before placing an order.
Understand that all F/G parts need a bit of work to fit them but have their parts been way off in terms of alignment and quality or pretty good ? Thx in advance |

I recently put their ducktail on my coupe..... fit well, needed no more shims than the stock deck lid I took off. Looks kinda cool in bare fiberglass, I suppose I will be painting it this winter. I have heard horror stories of other manufacturers so I was happy with my purchase.

I recently bought a tail less rear deck lid in FG from them. I did not have any prep done to it (it was a timing thing) , simply painted and bolted on. It needed some prep but it was also less expensive than others. I feel like it was a fair value.
The biggest issue with FG in my experience is it seems to want tot twist. To really get a good fit you will need to figure out how to adjust for the twist. If you are really a stickler for great body panel fit I think you may spend more in body work then you will save. The MA shaw stuff is a lot more money but many say it needs less prep. Body shop hours add up quick $$. If you are building a light fun car and not overly concerned with some panel fit save the money, or if you enjoy doing the body work and have the skill and equipment to get the great fit save the money.
