have you ever heard oil flow to the cooler?

After changing my oil and driving it, I heard oil flowing from the engine to the oil cooler. I have never heard this before. I guess some air got into the line and was eventually flushed out because I didn't hear the sound again.

Has anyone else ever heard this?

I have heard it on a hot day after pushing the car pretty hard. Seemed to go away after I drove easy for awhile. Haven't heard it since i rebuilt the engine though.

I use to hear it all the time, use to because a) I don't remember the last time it was over 50 degrees and b) engine is no longer in the car.

Is hearing this a '78 thing?

Are you sure you are not hearing it draining into the oil tank?

It is common to hear that. Like the sound of running water!

I never heard before I upgraded my cooler to a B&B unit, Now I hear it when the temp gets to about 180 degrees. Just like running water.

Garage
I hear it at idle in the garage (ie a quiet place) when the engine is hot.

I have only heard it in '79 Turbo when warmed-up and at idle in a quite place. Sounds like a gurgling stream. It is pretty distictive from the rocker area that the hoses run through.

I can hear it too, particularly after a stretch on the motorway. Kind of soothing, actually. No reason to worry, I take it?

So that's what that noise is!! PHEW!! I figured it had to be something like that.
The first time I heard this was after I put the motor back into the car and ran it (I bought my car with a non-running motor). My first thought was, "OH *****!! What the heck is leaking?" And then when I looked under the car and saw nothing, I was a bit puzzled.
