I don't know anything about Slavek but the owner being overseas would make me very nervous
I wouldn't release funds until I had possession of the car. Pain in the butt but you can't be too careful these days

Be very, very careful. "Owner overseas" is almost always a scam.
You may wish to confirm existence of car by having known honest person who is local (shop, local pelican, or other trusted person) check out car in person. Make sure that you broker this as a recent scam discussed here was sophisticated and the "honest shop" was spoofed by the scammer to completely take the victim. In such a case, an honest seller will be happy to accommodate your request and your honest person may even be able to take possession of vehicle upon payment. Good luck. Go to site and buy the car. Use your own shipper.
Smells a bit like a scam.

thank you so much for these posts, they helped me not to suffer a fraud
This lady from Olympia, WA, Cynthia Beall (I don't think it's the real name), offered a 1970 W111 Mercedes 280 SE convertible (she claimed it was her father's car) and asked to ship by Slavek Transport as well. Andreas |

Slavek Transport LTD
I "was" in the process of buying a car listed as in Fincastle, VA. I was contacted by text from a number in New Mexico. instructing me to contact the sellers email address. The seller suggested using Slavek Transport as she was on of the country until November. This car belonged to her father too. "She" said the car was in Olimpia, Wa, crated and ready to go. I did a Google maps search on the "USA" office & it ended up being a dirt lot with a few trailers on it. I sent two messages to customer service requesting the telephone number to that office so I could fly up and look at the car. No answer yet & I suspect I never will hear from them. This just doesn't pass the smell test. P%$#$$ me off that these guys keep trying to rip people off................

This don't look right
![]() "title, two sets of keys, manuals and some service history records is what you will get from the Slavek Transport LTD. The boat belonged to my father who recently passed away. I arranged for the sale right before I left the country. I propose to close the deal through Slavek Transport LTD..." Checked Slavek Transport, it's only been up for 21 days... C'mon man...
