Electric Antenna vs. Manual
I just purchased my first 82 911 SC a couple of weeks ago, it has an electric antenna that doesn't seem to work...I haven't looked at it in detail
How many are installing manual antenna's... ? Also does anyone know what the wire looks like under the dash that needs power for antenna to work. Thanks |

Check out the ground wire at the antenna (should see where wires run when you look at the antennal motor in the wheelwell).
You may have to pull your radio to see if the correct wire is connected to the antenna https://www.google.com/search?q=din+car+stereo+connector&hl=en-GB&rlz=1T4GGHP_en-GBCA644CA645&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CDIQsARqFQoTCKbvpfWU-McCFUJaiAodVaQPXQ&biw=1280&bih=603#imgrc=Tt9rQWq3tzP5GM%3A If you have a DIN connector, then it is part of the connector as per the above link.... Otherwise, you will need to trace the wires, particularly if it is an aftermarket stereo installation..... Dennis |

I just purchased a new Hirschmann electric standard chrome mast antenna for the Blaupunkt Frankfurt in my Six. I will wire a switch into the power lead to allow me to leave it down when streaming music so I can leave it down unless I want it up.

![]() This switch was in my car when i bought it. It looks like it was wired for a radar detector , so used it for my antenna . The new radios do this automatically when you switch to MP3 but i didn't want a radio with flying dolphins on it
