Wildfire near Mazda Raceway
Sorry to post in this forum, asking this non technical question.
Do you know how near are the wildfires from Mazda Raceway. Could it be possible that they need to cancel Rennsport Reunion V because of the fire ? Last edited by donporfi; 09-21-2015 at 06:02 AM.. |

We were doing track days there Sat and Sun and Sat was cut short because of fires. Saw some intense slurry bombing going on Saturday. Today looked like normal and 68 was back open both ways.
They had a fire from the gun range come over the hill about two weeks ago that closed the paddock as well which you can see from the 68 entrance as you climb the hill to the track. |

I can happily report the fire is totally out/extinguished, no reason to think that Rennsport won't happen. I know because I live very near the burn sites!

I was running at the event a couple weeks ago. We were delayed about an hour after lunch. We did get to watch the aerial fire-fighting show. Fire suppressant did get on Turn 2...
