Battery Box Area - Do I have the wrong part?
Hi All,
Working on my '77 911S resto-rod project. I acquired a few panels to fix the front area of the trunk. I thought I was going to fab some metal to fix the batter box area, but I have decided to go with new panels. However, in searching for a new panel I am starting to think I may have the wrong parts already. See in the pics below. I cannot seem to find just the panel that is rusted through. Instead I find pieces that seem like they should work (lateral fuel tank support), but only for the right side of the car and not the Left battery area. So, does anyone know the name of the panel that goes on the LEFT side of the car. Or perhaps, can confirm I have the wrong part. But leaves me with the question; what is the correct part? Thanks in advance. You have to buy the complete right lateral tank support. Looks like you are going to have fabricate the outer piece, since no one makes repair panels for that. I just replaced mine last month

Thanks. But right? I've circled the part I THINK I need and put an arrow where the rust is. Maybe the pic below is just confusing me.

That is the lateral tank support. So sorry, I meant left lateral support. You will need to cut what you need. I cut mine right behind the tank fastening nut.

Thanks for the clarity. Our host does not carry it. Bought it at Paramount in Hickory, NC for $112.00.

If Porsche still supplies it, Pelican can get it for you. I'm not sure that piece is still vavailable, though. Make sure you are getting the right one. There are several versions of it. Some front end sheet metal changed in 1978, so double check your part numbers. That diagram you supplied is different than the one I have in PET for 1977.
