Suspension - Konis or Leda

So I am looking for some advice on suspension parts - I have an 89 car that was a dedicated club racer that I am returning to street, but want to keep some heritage/cool to the set up. The car currently has a Leda remote reservoir setup, front and rear. I think this was more popular back in the early 90's when it was installed,. I am thinking this is total overkill for my street car - I don't mind stiff, but this is stiff.

I bought a set of early set of Koni Red special struts - 69-73, and was thinking about restoring these - maybe raise spindles. But not sure my front calipers will fit. These Konis have a 3.5" bolt pattern for brakes andI believe they fit early S brakes, and some brembos, not sure about my 89 stock front calipers. I like the idea of Koni reds all around just for heritage reasons. Or, I was thinking to service the Leda's, and remove the remotes.

A couple of further notes on suspension - Currently 23f / 30r torsion bars, 25.5 sway bars front and back.

I want to end up with a sporty but liveable suspension. Pics attached. Advice welcomed. Thank you

I'd sell the Ledas and get Bilsteins and softer torsion bars. Or get some softer bars and call Racers Edge (former Leda distributor) and ask them what your options are for revalving to match. If you keep the Ledas reroute those hoses - I'm surprised that low hanging shock line hasn't been ripped off or had a hole worn in it. By the way - your rear swaybar arm appears to be on upside down.

I will swap you for my bilstien sports and slightly smaller T bars for that set up.....:-)

If you want we can swap sway bars too, mine are adjustable but smaller.

FWIW I think you can only raise spindles on the Bilstien housings- I think the Konis have a bulb on the bottom that makes it more difficult. Also the Bilstiens offer so many options with the custom valving that is available and not too expensive. I dont think you can do that with the Konis?

I believe all the post 74 911s have the 3.5" caliper bolt spacing so any of the brake calipers will work.

OK - thank you Cory, Winders, Elombard for the info - I will get the sway bar arms flipped around as a starting point. Sounds like Bilsteins make the most sense. I have some receipts from PO where Racers Edge serviced the Ledas. Will dig that out and call.

I appreciate the advice.

I'd have Steve Weiner at Rennsport custom valve some Bilsteins for your car. No need to get rid of the big torsion bars if you are just looking for a smoother ride. Stock Bilsteins are ok, but the custom valving makes an enormous difference.
