Disconnecting CIS Fuel Lines

Hi Guys, I'm removing my CIS to fix all my air leaks once and for all. I need to undo this fuel connector. I believe this is the return line.

Do I just put the correct wrench on the nut and undo it? Seems wierd there's nothing to counter hold. I don't want to break it.

Thanks for all your advice as always.

G.

Gary,

If my memory serves me right, I used a 12-mm and 17-mm wrenches to loosen this particular return line. Or an 11 and 17 combination (?). Form a V-set up with the wrenches and compress them together. Are you dropping the engine?

Hey Tony,

Welcome back I hope your trip was good!

There only seems to be one nut so I was thinking of counter holding the metal crimp on the other half of the hose with vice grips.

I'm not actually dropping the engine. I know this is *not* the recommended way to do it but I don't have the room to drop it unfortunately. My garage is too small.

It's back breaking and i've spent hours on this (I'm in no rush) but i'm about 3/4 of the way there. I just need to undo these fuel lines and undo the airbox support bolt and that nasty inside nut on the number 6 runner (I have lots of 1/4" swivels and flex adapters) and I should be able to lift the rest of the CIS up and out with just the 5 & 6 runner attached. Hopefully the engine breather hose won't be too much of a bear either ...

Cool thanks so much Jason. I've not encountered a fitting like that before.
