Stamping text and figures in identification plate
Gents, I need your advise in order to mark a new identification mark to my old 911.
Any advices will be very much appreciated. I tried several jewelers, but they can print and not punch or they can only punch figures and not letters. Any ideas will be very much appreciated. .... ![]()

Can you go to a hobby shop (or off the internet) and buy some letter/number punches? Then just use a hammer to mark the plate?

I assume it is supposed to be done by a pro, since it must be done from behind. I will up-load a picture of the existing identification plate.

This gets discussed periodically. what you are asking is, at best, in a grey legal area, and at worst downright illegal. This discussion over at the Early 911S BBS is informative: https://www.early911sregistry.org/forums/showthread.php?99237-Anyone-do-i-d-plate-stamping&
