What color is my car?

Can anyone tell me the official "name" of this color. It was sold to me as "Platinum" and has that color listed on some documents, but it sure seems more like a "copper" color. The white label with the codes I hear about in the trunk is nowhere to be found.

Thanks.

ps - if I'm unable to get a picture up, forgetaboutit.

If your car is the same color as mine, then it is zinc pewter, paint code U3U3.

Where exactly was the picture of your car taken? In the Presido somewhere? I love that shot, GGB in the background...

Probably is platinum then. Porsche platinum is a bit coppery not like the metal platinumn at all.

I live in SF and drive Presidio all the time, it's a great little course, just don't get caught by the Po-Po!
Speaking of courses, anyone ever play the golf course out there?
Beautiful views.

The paint code number near where the front door hinges onto the car. Should be a little black square with some numbers on it.

I think your car is platinum. I like the coulor looks like a nice car too.

This is copper (443)

Yes the Porsche Platinum is a bit "copper" color, my car is also Platinum. The paint code sticker is foiund in the engine area along with all the other stickers in the engine compartment. If you can't find the paint code sticker in the engine compartment, it could be that the sticker had come off. My sticker is also starting to come off.

Hard to tell from the pic.

Mine is Quartz Brown Metallic.

Don't think Copper was a choice in 84'.

I think yours is Light Bronze Metallic possibly Platinum Metallic. They are very close.

Paintscratch lists the code so you know what numbers to look for on the car.

HAH!

She has them now, those pictures were taken the week I bought the car. Do I hear a request for a more recent picture?

Jeez, I thought fogcity's color was dead on with mine. It seems you all think it's platnium. I should mention that I am terrribly color blind.

Fogcity, maybe if you posted a picture with the car directly in the sun?

Platinum. Color code is 655. Should be a plate in the driver's door jam.

Hey, better late then never. The new owner (from about 7-8 years ago) will be thrilled to know.
Now I drive a '90 964. Color is unquestionable white. (The '84, imo, was a more exciting car. Color and all).
