Wondering if you can add 4by4 to get more height.

That is when thing start to get on shaky ground... and you don't want to be under when that happened.

I contacted the sales rep and he is open to a group buy. I would like to see if anybody has any experience using them, Jack points etc. He thinks the 5000xl model would fit our criteria but I would like to hear first hand knowledge of the pros V. cons. Engine drop is probably not an option due to height but not a deal breaker in my case as I have access to a full lift if need be. This would be more of a home garage tinker toy so to speak. 1978SC

I contacted them as well. They are not familiar with jack points on 911s. Would like to hear as well from someone with experience.

Wow, I need one of these!! Are they just new to the market? I wonder if there is a Canadian distributor?

If they do, double the price :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Have it delivered at the UPS store in Ogdensburg and go for a 90km ride and save a bundle. That is why I average a trip a week for the last 5 years even with the lousy present exchange rate :):D:)

I've never owned a lift, and am a rookie when in comes to cars, but I'm having trouble seeing the purpose of this lift. Not high enough for you to stand. Not sure if you can even sit under it. So, you're on your back anyway. Can't get under the car since the lift is blocking you. Seems only a few inches higher than jack stands. What exactly does this lift help you do?

Plavan 09-26-2015 06:59 AM

Fellas,

My 2 cents to save you money. There was a group buy a year ago on another forum. Those guys were not too happy with it. It does not raise the car high enough, it is very slow lifting.

I would recommend just buying a scissor lift. They are not much more $, but are way more useful because you can get under the car easily, motor/trans drops in an hour etc. I have been using one over 5 years. It is by far the best tool I have ever bought.

I decided to get a scissor lift at least this way I can drop motor.

Sicklyscott 09-26-2015 09:09 AM

What scissor lifts did you guys get?

Dpmulvan 09-26-2015 10:24 AM

Haven't pulled trigger yet but I do like the ez car lift.

IIRC, $2100 CDN all in (Tax/Delivery).

At todays rate, it would be ~1600 US. Paid for itself in less than 2 years.
