Race Car AC in a street car?
Kustom Komponents
There is a used unit on Ebay. Its still giant money. I have heard in the last few years that some series now require AC for the driver. I have always wondered how they did it. Stumbled across one on Ebay and was looking at the manufacturer's web site. kind of vague on details. IS there "freon" in this or how does it work? If there was a cheap FG one that weighed say 10 lbs instead of 7 would it lower interior temps significantly? I guess this just blows into the helmet? Does it plug into the suit also?

There is no Freon in these. It is a thermo-electric device. Google Peltier effect.
Not very efficient for most uses, but great for portability. No way you would want all the weight of a heat pump in a race car.
