Marshall Tach in 911 (SC)
Hey Pelicans,
I recently decided to get an overlay for my tachometer to rotate the rev counter. In the process of pulling the old tach apart I broke the needle, because thats how I roll. I sent the broken bits to North Hollywood Speedometer to have them fix my F&*^up, but wanted to enjoy some of the rare nice non-rainy weather we have here in North Florida in the "Fall". I found a 5" Tachometer with a programable shift light, peak hold, and peak playback that fit as a temporary solution. It plugs right in and with a little electrical tape as a gasket, fit the dash without cutting or drama. Wiring was easy. Run a fused lead from the battery, put male terminals on the tach wiring and plug them in. Red to red and purple to Black/purple and black to brown for ground. I didn't hook up the illumination, because I don't drive at night that often and its a temporary solution. It does however have White and Amber LED illumination if you choose. Nothing else was needed. I chose not to install the shift light, because its a little gawdy. If i had, however, I would have probably used the OXS hole in the dash for the O2 sensor as it's in your peripheral field of view. Now, this isn't for everyone, hell, its not even for me. As soon as my tach gets back this thing is going back on the bay. But it is a good temporary solution or could be used for a track car needing a higher rev range. ![]() ![]()
