SC Door Latch Cable Bellcrank Woes
Anyone have their SC or Carrera door panel off and can take a quick picture showing how the door latch release cable and bellcrank are oriented? For it to work right, the pull rod would need to be further toward the rear of the door, just about in the middle of the space between the two mounting holes for the handle. Per the first picture, it's way too far forward, but I can't seem to come up with a way to get it where it needs to be. In the second picture you can see it's clearly not where it needs to be in the channel it passes through to the door handle. WHAT AM I MISSING???

This is all I've got from an 83SC ROW version drivers door.

Thanks SCadaddle, that's it!
My car is also ROW, but I converted to power windows from a US car, using a lot of the door hardware as it was nicer than mine. The bellcranks are way different. Maybe the cables too. Shouldn't have let mine get away, but found the right ones on eBay and snagged them. Yet another lesson learned.
How did I ever work on cars before computers? Very much appreciate SCadaddle taking time to post pictures of the inside of his door. Cool name too. |

Glad the photos helped you out.
![]() They were some of the photos I took of a 911 in the "boneyard" when I was replacing the window lift channel in my 911 a while back. |
