Window trim info needed
Hey
Me again with my parts related questions... The car is progressively getting back together, I'm now facing the need to order the clips or nuts or ? to refit the chrome trim that goes on the body along the lower side of the window opening. ![]() Do you simply use the same clips as the lettering and badges ? kinda had a bad memory issue on this one.. thanks for any insight on this ! I bought new ones for my '66.
I believe it was at Stoddard, it was several years ago in anticipation of reassembly that still hasn't happened. The decklid clips are different. Check in their online catalog. Good luck. Peter |

Hi
thanks for your reply. Not sure I can find them on the Stoddards catalog. The annoying thing is that the retailers I've found talk about "badge/emblem nuts" and "lettering nuts". No mention of trim nuts, or if either of them are compatible. |

Why not just look them up in PET and get the part number?
Might want to clean that trim... Was there a tape underneath it? So many questions... JR |

Hi
I don't have the PET ? Is that the porsche parts catalogue ? I'm rebuilding a '67 912, the trim has been polished up since, not aware there was any tape underneath, it's my bodyshop guy who took the car apart... |

PET is the Porsche parts catalog. A digital version is available free from them, on the net. There's probably a 20mm x 2mm strip of Terostat under the trim. Download a copy of PET and have a look. Best resource out there for re-assembling a car.
Probably something under the door trim, too. JR |

Ok I'll look into downloading the PET.
Looks like the ref you gave me seems to be the one I can find around my suppliers. I guess it's possible that the pins on the badges and the pins on the trim plates are the same diameter, and therefore use the same nuts, but damn it would be helpful if they could notify that in their parts description... |

Check with PET to make sure it's the right one. Pelican sells them, too.

I trawled through the PET and it does seem that the part ref you initially gave is the correct one, AND it is the same as the badge clips, despite no retailer describing them as so.
![]() Slightly closer to getting the car back on the road. |
