Air Cleaner Drain Hose Routing? MFI

I found my air cleaner drain hose connected to the drain port on the bottom of the air cleaner, but the cadmium plated pipe on the other end was flopping around loose on top of the passenger side engine shroud. The PET shows the cad pipe (911 108 021 02) should have a rubber valve on the end which is missing, but still available.

My question is, where is the pipe supposed to be fastened? It has a mounting hole and I hear it should be routed to dump overboard, but I can't see anywhere to fasten/route it. Since this is on the clean side of the air cleaner, I assume it is important to either get this put back together properly or capped off with a vacuum cap to ensure all air entering the engine is filtered. Photo of the hose and pipe attached, and an additional photo of the air cleaner connection location on this thread: (not mine)

What function has this hose?

Thanks!

Right side forward sheet metal covering the side of the oil cooler. There is a hole in the sheet for the connector to pass through and the 6 mm bolt supports the plated part and the sheet to the oil cooler.
Now the hose connects the bottom drain on the air cleaner to the plated part. Oil drainage is controlled
