My Blackstone report- DT50 vs BradPenn

My last oil report - showing effects of a switch from BP-20w50 to Joe Gibbs Driven DT50-15w50. Seems to have helped my heavy metals number, but hurt the AL. Not too concerned about the higher viscosity, as the engines still spins fast enough to fire up on the first go-round every time. Motor is the original 3.2 that I bought in '05 with 145,000 miles on it - never been opened. 98% of the miles driven between changes are track miles.
Oil guys - feel free to comment.

I would not worry about the AL number..it is almost background scatter..3ppm

Copper comes from the oil cooler lines+oil cooler, always a bit up on a 911..no big deal

The lead numbers are interesting..again it might be the solder in the oil cooler.

Very short oil change intervals. Do a TBN again like in 2013..it will smooth your wallet and not waste good oil.

To short of an interval to be of any significant value. As DB suggested, run the car out to 3k miles next time. I get the fact you are running it on the track, but these oils are both top notch and will handle the abuse as long as the car isn't running too hot. Of course, looking back on your change intervals, the BP will probably always "look" better because they were all about 1500 mile services.

you would need many UOA's over many years to be able to discern any really meaningful info from a used oil test. At best a one-off UOA is a curiosity that really gives you nothing useful assuming your engine is in good working order to begin with...run it out to 7500-8500 miles and resample...do this for the next 10-12 drains and then trends can be analyzed. Not trying to spoil the fun, just letting you know how UOA is really useful

Not really sure about the logic that says a short change interval will yield invalid results. I would think that the numbers will only get worse as the miles accumulate. Consistent sampling on a regular basis will show trends in potential degradation, and allow me to take corrective actions.

FWIW, I do a change at the end of every track season - the thought of all those heavy metals and contaminates circulating through my motor at redline on the back straight at Sebring gives me the chills. My rationale is that I'd rather spend the $100, or so, on an annual change than $22,000 on a rebuild in the near future.

My research is showing that copper comes form the brass/bronze in the system (i.e. guides), iron and lead come from the bearings and coatings.
