Leather care for my 911

My 87 coupe's interior is in excellent condition and I want to keep it that way. What does everyone here use to keep their seats' leather soft and supple?

Hi there,

Most people will tell you lexol for the conditioning, I agree. If you ever want to re-dye the seats in order to make them look brand new again, there is a product called surflex that is easy to use. I used it, which essentially means you can too. It's great.

have fun,

Lexol seems to be the best, search on the site and you will find a number of posts on this subject. Also see this site for more info.

Lexol. Cleaner and Conditioner.
Surflex works really for the refinishing. I've done a few with great results. A buddy of mine won his class/division? in Boston with his '74 Carrera and used this (similar) product that we got from Bill Hirsch (Hemmings). I cannot remember who the supplier was but I also have a can of their gas tank exterior paint which is dead on the money for a match.

A few years ago my wife bought me a car care kit from Griot's Garage. I can't say that there was anything remarkable about the polish and wax included, but their LEATHER CARE did an amazing job at rejuvenating my seats. It's a little spendy, but lasts a long time. I'm just finishing my first bottle and I've had it for 3 or 4 years.

Leatherique

I like Lexol (Lexol Vinylex) on vinyl, but I use Leatherique on leather.

I like Hide Food, made in the UK, about $15 a container.

This is a serious issue for me since I have a cab and keep the top down. This was recommended by my upholstery guy who did my top repairs. Easy to put on, get off, seats look great.
