Red face Help with connector? What is this?

I need some help with this one
I found this tucked away when i removed engine and gearbox.

Car from 79. The thing is located on left side of car, is a two wire, stretches as far as left rear shock absorber (but then its streched), looks like a connector of some sort.. But to what?

Help? Please 😢

It looks like the sensor for the auto heat controller that goes into the "flapper box" that ducts heated air from the heat exchanger into the interior of the car. Look for it forward of the rear wheel, up high on the tub, under the car.

Javadog is correct. The sensor is riveted to the left flapper tube. It's item 14 from the PET. This is not the same as your model year PET, but it's similar I'm sure.
