What's this (electrical) and why do you suppose it's taped up?
I'm working on my CIS, and found this sitting under the number 2 intake runner. It's a wire with a connector, loose, that's taped up with electrical tape. Any idea about what it's supposed to connect to???
Thanks in advance. Stevehttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1444175056.jpg |
The wire comes out of the harness that contains the WUR wiring and heater blower motor wiring.

+1 connector to heater blower motor.

Hmm, I don't think so, there are three sets of wires in this bundle, one is WUR, the other is heater blower, this is the third.

Some cars did not have a thermo-time switch, but the plug was there, taped off.

Factory engine harness from '78 -'83 have them. Used in Europe all those years. Not used for US cars after '79. Connects to vacuum thermo time switch on cars that have it.
Professionally taped by Porsche factory technician. No longer a concourse car when removed... :) |
Yeah my car has that just floating around too. I re-taped mine with the tape that timmy2 gave me. Am I concours now? :).
Yes you will get a giggle from what you will find in there. On mine I found: 1. The throttle arm is stopped up by the rear engine tin so I wasn't getting anything near full tilt 2. Some clever chap glued in the injector sleeve into the number 6 runner - no wonder I couldn't get that sucker out for love or money. Jeepers. |
Lol, the tape I gave you is 0.333mm too narrow for concourse. You will have to contact Porsche to see if they can sell you a piece... :)
|
Ha. 20 points off for that then :).

I just ran into this myself, nice to have a explanation:) What was the function of thermo-time switch?
