SC clutch pedal not returning to position
 

Need some advice from the board regarding my clutch pedal.
Clutch replacement was done by workshop. New clutch helper spring and return spring were installed.
Following this the clutch pedal doesn't go all the way back to top resting position. The third pic shows the current resting top position.
The mechanic couldn't explain why.
I have taken pics - Is the clutch return spring in the correct position?
It is resting on top of the throttle linkage. Movement through the throttle linkage also causes the clutch return spring to move.
Is the position of the clutch return spring preventing the clutch pedal from going back all the way to top position? Or is it something else?
Car is RHD.

It's in the adjustment at the belden cable. There is 2 15mm nuts that adjust the cable on the trans attachment fixture. Moving the cable adjustment forward will bring the pedal up and then bring up the engagement location after the pedal reaches the top.
After this is done, then you need to adjust the lock bolt on the helper spring arm to the clutch lever so there is the mil gap to the clutch lever.

Well I would have expected any half competent workshop to have known to do that especially after completing a clutch replacement. :/

I also did some research and found that that helper spring for RHD cars is different. The one installed in my car is for LHD. This is what the RHD spring should look like for the benefit of other RHD car owners.

I suspect the gap in middle of the spring is to allow room for the throttle

Why was your pedal cut into two pieces and welded together.

No idea. PO couldnt explain that one either :(

Yeah good call - def looking at getting replacement, along with pedal cluster rebuild. Its pretty mucky down there :(
