Misfire

My on going saga. I had an oil change done on my 82 911sc and too much oil was put in. Smoke everywhere. I drained some out and took it for a thrash all seemed to clear. Everything went well for a bit than after a short drive I tried to restart and bang backfire and blew airbox. Dropped engine and replaced airbox and fitted fitted pop off valve as per suggestions and all inlet sleeves I am pretty sure there are no leaks and the mixture is ok its not backfiring however it now seems to be misfiring and generally running like a tractor Prior to the oil overfill the car was running sweetly now it is awful. It feels as it want to getup and go but it has no pull more like a shudder when taking off. Has anyone any ideas

You might start with cleaning the remaining oil residue out of the intake and changing the spark plugs. You also want to be sure the oil level is correct now. I don't know if "draining some out" actually got the oil quantity to the correct level.
