Engine Update: Part II

OK!! Here's the latest. I finally got time to meet up with David at Speedwerks today, to pick up my engine goodies. Everything turned out great, I'm really happy with the heads. Though, I could not get a closeup picture of the port job to turn out right.

Wayne: yes, the rods were resized.

Here's what's next up:
-Speedwerkes is checking specs on my cylinders and ordering JE pistons. We're going high compression!
-Next trip down I am taking my standard dual-in/single-out muffler to him, he's going to turn it into the center-dual-out sport muffler for me.
-I've amassed the parts list for the soft parts needed, and will order them up in January

Here are some pics:

Just kidding! This is from the VW Jetta head job I'm in the middle of.

Dave, just make sure that case does not fall over and squash those Cibies. That would be bad.

Nice clean engine parts are always a sight to behold. Makes me want to tear down the 3.0 just to make it shiney like yours.

dtw,

Your parts look great, debunking the myth that Competition Engineering is the only shop in the country that does top quality 911 machine work.

Did David get you new rod bolts to go with those squeaky-clean rods?

I see the bypass and pressure relief springs and pistons laying there. Time to get a BIG screwdriver. And be sure to install them in the correct locations.

I'm looking forward to seeing you put this mill together while I sit back and drink a few ciders. That way if it doesn't run, it won't be my fault.

;)

Now hurry up and get that tub done so you'll have something to put the engine in.

I guess this means I have to come and finish installing that nose panel. Warm up that welder...

You got us scared for a minute there. Two of those dub heads could have been the start of a demented oddfire-6 fusion of the most hideous nature.
