SC 8 inch subwoofer enclosure
How many of you out there would be interested in a subwoofer enclosure that fits under the backseat behind the driver?
I can make them of fiberglass and wondering how many buyers would be out there. See if it is worth my time. I was just thinking of someways to make some extra money for the next round of doings to my p - car.

Would like to hear more [about your proposal]. Another idea; how about a sub enclosure that fits on the back side of the console (facing forward) so it is hidden, but doesn't take up space?

Rod Birch of CAI has been quite successful with his
"sub enclosure". I have his "system" in my SC. Is this what you are thinking of ? http://www.caraudioinnovations.com/porsche.htm |

I was a musician in a former life (bass player, Nostatic) and for the life of me, I cannot see why a woofer cannot be made that fits under the drivers' seat. In "the olden days" there was a bass speaker box for use with the Ampeg SVT amp that had a bazillion 4" speakers. It worked very well. It is simply not necessary to put a refrigerator-sized box in your car to get bass. IMHO. I usually used a cabinet with two 15" speakers, but that's not necessary either. Four good 12" speakers will fill an opera house with bass sound. What does it take to fill a 911? I think a pair of 6" speaker should do the job.
Someone educate me.

Brad, if you are thinking about an enclosure that is made to rest behind one seat only, I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with. A single sub is plenty for me.
I'm currently using an enclosure made from particle board. Weighs a ton. So, a fiberglass enclosure for one side would be cool.

This may sound nutty but my girlfriend recently got a ride in a car that had subwoof's under the seats. So the whole seat shook with the music. She was apparently extremely....um..."excited" by the sound system and has been bugging me to install a similar system in my 911. I suspect if you can make this device and market it, you could make a bundle. Or, in other words: "If you build it, they will cum."

i've been in proffesional car audio for more than 10 years, a single 10" woofer with the right amount of power and a solid box will be capable of producing bass easily heard at highway speeds. i had a single 10" in my targa under the hood and it was more than enough for rock n' roll. i personally prefer my woofer up front, but you'll get good performance with it in front or back.

I'll bite.
I have put off adding a sub because I can't find a good enclosure for the Porsche for cheap. If you make them, and they are reasonable, I will buy one. JA
