a fresh 930/02

Well the day has finally arrived. After a long and oftentimes disheartening search, a freshly rebuilt 930/02 engine is being installed in my '77 C3.

Hope to document the entire process as I will be fixing/changing/upgrading many other parts "while I'm in there".

Thanks to Vinnie at Gulf Performance here in Pompano Beach for making this happen.

Here are a few initial pics.

Toby

Biopsea,
Congrats on the fresh motor.
I would be interested in what parts went into it!
What was the reason for the rebuild?
Cheers
Bill

Thanks Bill.

Unfortunately the car had a 2.7, complete with all the lovely California, HP crippling options when I bought her. Not sure if this was done solely for emissions when the car was imported (most likely), if the block was used to build a short stroke screamer (possible), or if the old engine gave up the ghost (unlikely).

Have owned it for 5 years or so and the 2.7 ran strong. Just wanted to put a proper engine in her, and finally found a freshly rebuilt one in Germany. Plan on selling the 2.7 to help defray some of the costs.

Although she won't be numbers matching, she will be historically correct. And this ensures one thing; I won't be afraid to drive her hard, and often.

Saw this beauty today as I was discussing some suspension goodies. Engine lid fit not great but what a noise. And I'm a sucker for Peru Red

Glad you reunited the chassis with the proper motor. I've got a '77 C3 Targa that was sold in Germany when new.
