cabin heat while running headers?

This past summer I got rid of my cabin heat/blowers etc. Not a big deal, as I only intended to drive the car on warm days. It's fall now here in Canada, and already too cold to drive the 911, back up on the lift for another round of mods over winter.

Got to thinking that I may want to bring the car out a bit earlier next year, and started to wonder about the windshield fogging up on me. wondering what others have done to prevent windows fogging up while running headers without heat exchangers. I came across this device that uses warm air off the factory engine mounted oil cooler:

I also considered mounting a small oil cooler in the smugglers box area or something, before the front mount oil cooler t-stat to use for cabin heat/windshield defrosting. Anyone tried that yet?

Currently have all of my HVAC deleted, but it's all still sitting on the shelf and could repurpose the blower box.

try running some aluminum flex ducting along the headers from the stock setup air supply from the fan to the heater flapper boxes.

Look into 12v heaters made for aircraft. I am going that route for my '77 project.

Call these guys. Great to deal with and even customized my heater to some extent.

do you need to run a secondary alternator (and extra battery maybe?) to supply adequate currant to run one of these? what size did you go with? I'm running an odyssey 925 battery , and a stock alternator, I'd be concerned about it using too much power?

I believe my battery is smaller than stock:

18 amp draw...I have yanked a lot of other electronics on mine, so I think my stock alternator will be up to the task. Probably best to call them. I went with the twin hornet 22 - 12v. It is pretty small. Have not installed it yet, but it gets good reviews on various flying forums.

Ahhhhhh

I don't think my wife has sat in my car in 8 years. Might partly explain why it mostly sits in the garage :-(
