Crooked Tail
I bought my Carrera this past summer with the Carrera tail and chin spoiler already installed. When viewing the car fron the rear I noticed that the tail is a bit crooked. Careful checking has revealed that the bolt holes were drilled in the correct locations and the engine lid is on straight. It appears the fiberglass portion of the tail is warped.
Anyone else seen this? Any bright ideas on how to straighten it? I have come up with an idea for constructing a brace inside the tail to exert pressure where I need it to correct the warp. Just curious if there is a better way. Signed, Warped in Minneapolis

Am I the only anomaly out here with a warped tail?

I've seen them around. They seem to come from back/yard/lot DIY molders.
Kind of like a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. . .

How exactly is it warped? Photo? Could you cut it, jig into place, re fibre glass from inside and then repaint? A little work, but I guess it matters how much it bothers you. I dont think you are gonna need any of its aero dynamic properties as soon as the snow flies ;-) .... I wish I hadnt put my car away yet.
I am familiar with repainting a carrera tail as I resprayed mine. Color match?? I sprayed my whole car to avoid that :-) Joe |

If it's crooked enough to be noticable, it would bother me too. It's undoubtably a "clone" not a genuine Porsche tail, some clones look factory, some look ... crooked. I think you need to talk to a body shop experienced in FG repair. Hopefully they can rescue it, but I think you have to face the possibility that the repair (cutting, re-glassing, gel-coat, re-painting) may be as expensive as a good, used, genuine tail. You might start looking around for a used one "just in case".
