Is a 997 Carrera 4 a dependable daily driver

Hello. Anyone out there with a 2006 Carrera 4 who can tell me about them? I just took a test drive in one my friend is selling and really enjoyed the car, the handling and the ease of driving it.
It has an automatic trans, looks like it just came off the showroom and only 50K miles. I really know nothing about them, and even less in regards to the all wheel drive.
Are these good daily drivers? Do they have a good reputation in regards to low maintenance and reliability? What should one look at or have checked out before purchasing?
At around 50K miles, are there any major required maintenance recommendations?
The car would be used as a daily driver, with just normal city driving and some long distance trips.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

I think it would be a fantastic DD but you should post this in the 996/997 forum for more information from current owners.

No worries Bob. My next 911 will probably be a watercooled version, Turbo hopefully.
I wouldn't use it daily here in Michigan but California is a whole 'nother story. Hope you find the right one.SmileWavy

They are great cars. 2006 cars are not prone to intermediate shaft bearing seal failures. Common problems:

-water pump
-battery cable
-4 wheel drives alignment hungry

60k car is due for a major service if they have not already done because of years age, spark plugs, drive belt, fluids, and filters replace. It could be done at an indy around 700-1000 or you can tackle them if you are a diy'er.

Easy cars to drive around town, blast on back roads.

Make sure no accident history
