Stalled Projects
I always enjoy reading about fellow pelicans' project cars. I know from my own experience rebuilding a 1962 Morgan Plus 4 that's it's a long road. With my Morgan, I made most of the wood for the body tub from scratch and then made up new body panels for the tub from the fire wall back. I bought a new chassis and subframe. After four years, I had a roller but I knew that at that pace it would be years before I was done. I reluctantly sold the project. Kids, my business and other priorities got in the way.
Here's a couple of links that recently surfaced. I hope all you guys finish and don't sell like I did. I still regret not finishing that Morgan. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/842879-1966-911-barn-find-story-w-pics.html http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/692693-turning-boxster-longhood.html |
Story of my life, unfinished projects :( As i get older i realize that I can't do them all so quantity is giving way to quality. With the shop project well under way I am making a space for my projects to keep. Like most of our 911's other old cars are appreciating at an alarming rate. Good if you like to sell but bad if you want to get that other special car and the price is now out of your range like a 356. First order of business when my shop is ready is to sell off a few projects to pay for said garage. Hate to do it but the money has to come from some where :(
