Early 911 colors & misspent youth

Monday, as Cindy was waxing me in 8 ball, I noticed the following numbered balls were the listed colors. (For those of you who don't play pool, the striped balls are the same primary stripe color as the solid balls, so I'm listing only the solids here)

1 ball=gold metallic (without the metallic, of course)
2 ball=Albert Blue
3 ball=Bahia Red
4 ball=Aubergine
5 ball=Tangerine
6 ball=Irish Green
7 ball Sepia Brown
8 ball= Black

I tell ya, back in the early years, those who selected Porsche colors had to be hanging out in a pool hall, using standard Brunswick balls...the color matches are uncanny!

The fat lady sings Saturday at 2!

BTW - I misspent my youth the same way, thanks to my Dad for the pool table in the rec room. A great passtime.

Good news about the car Jim...I know you've been looking a while. Be sure to post pics of it, okay? Hey, maybe somebody could loan you a 4 ball...for color comparison?

Paul,

I used to be an avid student of the collision of rotating spheres on the green felt. Hava an original Balabushka and an unhit set of the old Brunswick "Bicentennials" (stars in the stripes). Richard Black is a good friend and have 5 of his cues. Thought you might appreciate the hardware.
