Any interest in 911 Plug'n'play ECU?
I have made these for years, allows to get rid of AFM/MAF altogether, also increases power over stock quite substantially with the tune I have in the ECU
![]() I made a product page in Facebook, check out the possible plug and play VEMS ECU's for different Porsches (911 3.2, 964, 993, all 944's, 968): http://www.facebook.com/vemsporsche/ I have also made many complete harnesses for older 911's which do not have EFI, including twin-plug COP setups. ![]() ![]() Here's TPS kit and AFM delete kit: ![]() ![]() In addition to being a comfortable way to support hot cams, ITB's etc, this ECU is very good for the TPC supercharger or custom turbo guys as the piggyback solution that TPC comes with is mediocre to say at least. Also this ECU allows you to ditch the AFM and use many features. Note that all features mentioned are already supported, no fee needed! Only optional things one has to buy additionally are WBo2 sensor (it has controllers inside), EGT sensor(s), SD logger, RS232-BT adapter to use Android dash and logging app. Here are features of VEMS: Drivers • 8 High Current Ignition Drivers • 8 injection drivers supporting peak-hold injectors. • 2 High current miscellaneous outputs. These drivers, as well as the 8 injector drivers can be configured as high current (14 to 15 A) drivers for special outputs (Idle Solenoid, ON/OFF solenoid, NOS Injector, Variable Intake actuator, etc...) • 1 Idle stepper driver. (Can be used as four individual 1A push-pull drivers) • 4 350mA protected open collector drivers with pull-up. • 1 350mA protected open collector driver for fuel pump relay. • 1 350mA protected open collector driver for small idle solenoids. • 2 350mA protected open collector drivers driving LED's. Available for other applications if connected on board. Communications • 2 RS232 ports for Updates and Data Logging. • 1 One-wire communications port. (Can replaces one RS232) • 1 Onboard LCD support. • 1 Onboard PS/2 Keyboard support • Feature connector for CAN bus and MMC (Multimedia Card) add-on boards. • Fast serial boot loader for firmware updates. Sensor Inputs • Up to 4 VR/Hall sensor inputs. • Up to 2 wheel speed inputs • Up to two drive-by-wire throttle support • PWM variable cam timing support (4 solenoids). • 2 knock sensor inputs with advanced DSP based signal conditioning. • Onboard 2.5-5-bar Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) • Coolant temperature sensor (CLT) • Intake Air Temperature sensor (IAT) • Throttle position sensor (TPS) • 2 miscellaneous inputs for resistive sensors, like exhaust back pressure and fuel pressure. • 2 LSU4 Wideband O2 controllers. (fast and precise digital control) • 2 Type-K EGT sensor amplifiers (up to 16 EGT's with optional external amplifier). • Several internal sensor inputs for custom applications. Enclosure and Connectors • Automotive grade AMP Econoseal III connectors. • Extruded Alubos enclosure with CNC machined endplates. Genboard V.3 ECU Target Features • Support for most common trigger arrangements. • 1-8 cylinder full sequential injection with coil on plug/coil near plug, wasted spark, or 1-2 distributors. Or, 10-16cylinder semi sequential with wasted-spark/ 1-2 distributors. • Wide open throttle closed loop Lambda control (WOT closed loop) - lambda (AFR) mapable through entire loadsite-range (kPa, RPM) • Self learning VE table via Live VE analyser (works very wel and easy to use). This is difference on stock 964 engine, even original catalyser was in place: ![]()

I'm sure there is interest, but fairness to our host, I'd recommend you get Wayne's blessing for posting up an advertisement such as this
![]() Looks good though!

IIRC I remember reading policy that if Pelican does not offer a specific product, it is no problem to let community know what is available. This project is made by a Porsche enthusiast to fellow enthusiasts not trying to get rich here or something..

I'm replacing a full front harness as my cars harness lit up. All was gone when I got the car. How much?

You mean engine harness or car electrical harness (lights, horns etc)?
I only make engine harnesses in order basis, I have made few entire car harnesses also (for race cars and few project street cars) but that would require to specify a detailed things that you would need and it would come unterminated (you would put the connectors on during install).

So,
Looking at the first picture above.. the ECU, it appears that it takes the standard slip-in clamp down Porsche harness connector. Correct? That being said, then out with the old and in with the new.. what about programming, am I just missing seeing the serial port? In essence, with a modified 3.2/3.4 one can just plug and play into the stock harness and "eliminate the AFM/MAF altogether?" What about the details of using ITB's with what you have? Is this the ECU and harness in the 2nd picture an example of this? Also, it shows COP, is this an option or is this system designed around this? Last but not least, what are we talking about as far support and of course cost? Thx

Yes, exactly. Out the old, in the new. It already comes with good running and tuned maps, though fine tuning of fuel maps would be needed most likely. It is very easy with autotune feature: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7fyfhY_FhI
Communication is either via COM port or optional (50 euros extra) Bluetooth, which allows to tune wirelessly and besides that allows you to view and log data on your Android tablet or phone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=876TCZBUeI8 Windows tablets also support full VEMStune where you can tune with your tablet. It works with ITB's without anything else needed other than reconfiguration in software. If going COP, obviously extra harness is needed because stock system uses just single channle ignition: ![]() Regarding support, I have installed and tuned VEMS systems for almost 10 years, always have helped in a very short notice. As for cost, typical plug and play system with WBo2 sensor, bluetooth etc (but not COP) would be ~1200-1300 euros.

Beautiful system, I've heard good things on VEMS.
What is your price for a complete package?

Set of 12pcs brand new VAG COP would cost 384 euros extra. COP harness is 200 euros extra, all with brand new connectors...

^^^ agree... So raceboy, is this ( VEMS US | Versatile Engine Management Systems ) your US presence or someone/something else? I have several projects on the board (although each being several months down the road) that will require the use of a stand alone system. One is Carrera based, although modified & twin plug, and thus I like the idea of using the factory wiring harness with the ability to plug in the stand-alone brain along with crank fire and be set. Another will use ITB, twin plug w/dist an thus require full harness etc, and lastly there will be an efi turbo project and I anticipate wanting the ability for sequential injectors and the use of knock sensors, Price point, usability, adaptability and upgrades will all factor in.. as you can tell I am researching this as I would rather get a reliable system, learn and be comfortable with it in multiple configuration, as opposed to having one car with MS, another with AEM and one w/Vems... and of course I want the best bang for the buck. ![]()

No, VEMS USA is official dealer of VEMS systems overall, I am a official reseller in Estonia but my main focus is in Porsche plug and play + wire in systems, I developed the Porsche PnP line. If you contact VEMS webshop regarding Porsche PnP system (there are Audi and BMW ones also, both 55pin and 88pin units) they will usually direct you to me.
