What gasket sealer to use?
A rookie question. I'll be upgrading my valve covers today and want to know if there is a special gasket sealer I should be using or any old stuff I can get at the local auto parts store?

No! Do not use sealer on valve cover gaskets!! If you want to "upgrade" just order the gaskets with the silicon seal on them. It is considered a mortal sin in the 911 community to use sealer for valve cover gaskets!

But make sure your nylock nuts are new.

where is JW......
get the orange reuseable gaskets. believe me they are worth the money. make sure both surfaces are clean and no residue from old gaskets. then get a die for the studs to clean them up.

So a little bit of Curil-t is not acceptable when reusing a gasket in a pinch? Glad I didn't do that.
