Does a magnet stick to them? I think the "S" calipers are aluminum.

Send pics to Eric Shea at www.pmbperformance.com or PM Bill Verburg on this list.

They look like early S calipers to me. I haven't seen any with the "TEST" stamp so I'd be curious what that is, but everything else points to an early set of ATE aluminum S calipers.

Thinner "webbing" on sides of caliper indicates early S. Later versions were thicker and had a smoother look.

They do look to be early, but not the earliest versions. The earliest versions did not have the notches cut out near the bleed nipples. Also, the earliest I have handled had the same circular machining on the inside of the mount ears as on the outside.
The TEST stamp is very odd, and not something I have seen. The experimental calipers have a "V" for versuch and a numerical identifier. |
Who did the restoration of these?
