A typical, sad set of tools. Owner wanted them restored and with more of a satin finish than the original glossy finish zinc gives, so I went with cadmium. You can get a matt-satin finish with zinc, but it doesn't look natural and is very blue these days with the brighteners that platers are using.

It's very interesting that the metals are slightly different with the duplicate set of 3 wrenches.

Those turned out great! I'll bet there are a lot of tool sets out there that could use some TLC like that.

I took a buffing/rouge wheel to mine.

But those look nice.

Basic question, are these wrenches normally plated? And if you took the buffing wheel to them, did it remove the plating, if it is there, or just enough to take off any oxidation? My tools also look a little rough but I have avoided doing anything because I was afraid to make it worse.

Any pics of end result? Would using a dremel take a long time?

Like I said, I do not know much about this.
