Ok I'm an idiot, need some help here....

after some driving, acc. pedal doesnt return to idle position

Ok, I'm an idiot. How do I get the panel off that covers the pedal assembly? I got the 1 nut off but that cardboard/plate , whatever it is, doesn't come out....what else is involved....thanks.

The top has two large slots on either side. They slip over a loop type bracket which accepts the vinyl strap from the carpet. They can be extremely tight around those loops as well as feel pressure from the sides from the carpet. You should be able to get a little wigle and then carefully remove it. The panel is made of 1/4" laminated plywood and if previously wet can fall apart pretty easily. Good luck.

Are you sure there isn't not another nut or two still holding it down? I'm pretty sure there's more than 1 fixing point- once these are all undone you just need to kind of wiggle it out over the pedals.
