Alternative OEM door lock barrel option

Hello everybody,

I am currently restoring a 1977 911 2.7. Unfortunately the locks are ruined from over use or even a possible break in attempt (they can be opened by turning a screw driver!) so, I need new locks (and keys....)

However I saw the price of new handles and really hope I don't have to take on that expense €1400! Is there an alternative solution, perhaps a new non porsche fitting locking barrel and key set from a local locksmith? Or could a lock smith even recondition the old battered barrels to work again.

Not a good start having restored your 911 to leave it unlocked

Buy some used parts and re-key the locks to suit your existing key.
