Plugging the gas heater fuel line port in the gas tank...

...or not.

I'm trolling for ideas about what to do with the port in the gas tank that feeds the now removed gas heater. The tank is out for painting and now's the time to deal with it. Prior to removing the tank, the fuel line was disconnected from the heater and plugged with a bolt and a hose clamp. Probably not the best solution.

Any thoughts on putting a tee fitting in the line and using both ports for the carbs? That way, if one port becomes clogged the carbs would still get gas.

Or, a bolt to replace the output stub & filter with some thread sealer on it.

Or, a short piece of fuel line with a bolt and hose clamp.

Rich, you need to plug it the way the factory did. 900 219 001 30 is the plug, has M22x1,5 threads, and a sealing ring, 900 123 011 30, A 22x27 DIN 7603 Al (aluminum crush washer).

There's also a smaller third hole, M14x1,5, and a 14x18 seal ring.

Now, you say, where am I going to get such a plug? Turns out that part number is a G50 fill plug, available from our host for $8.75. Maybe also found on CIS airboxes? A call to your friendly neighborhood Grateful Dead guru should be able to locate such a thing.
