67-78 "S" Bosch Distributor

So, while tinkering with my new 1969 T, I discovered that my distributor is a Bosch 0231159002. This distributor is a 1967-68 "S" distributor. I have very little history on the car, other that to know that the previous owner had built the car to track it, but never did as he came down with an illness. Is there a performance advantage to this distributor or not? Would it indicate that the engine has been modified or taken up in cc's? Any insight or speculation would be appreciated

For an otherwise stock 911T, not a performance advantage. But probably worth your while to have a quick look at the engine numbers (just in case its all S), then heads, cams, etc. Maybe someone did it right. If it turns out to be a bad mismatch, a yellow tag 002 is a pretty sought after part.

So I believe I have an #'s matching car (not confirmed by COA yet). The case # is 6195572. My car is a T model. So, can the stock T case be mated to "S" heads and cams? How can I tell without tearing the engine apart? I will say, the first time I drove it, I thought "This feels like more than 110HP", but it is a lighter car than my 85 Carrera, and that just might be perception.

Thanks in advance!

Does sound like a '69 T case. Figuring out what is inside is not so easy. You can look from underneath and determine whether cylinders are cast iron (T) or aluminum (not T). You can see head casting numbers from below too I think, which might let you identify (somewhere on the internet there is a list of these numbers I've seen). Casting dates and presence/absence of injection ports are also clues. If you look carefully you can see the headgasket if you have 2.0 heads. Light, patience, and small mirrors may let you read the cam part numbers if you take off the valve covers. Or you can put a dial gauge on #1 intake valve and see what lift and timing you have, and deduce the cam from that.

So I took a pic of the head casting. Number is a K1819 and by looks of the corrosion on the cylinder, the assumption is it is iron vs. aluminum. So were both "S" and "E" cylinders aluminum? Are the heads 2.0 or 2.2?

Thanks
