Are there different manufactures of CV-Joints. Are there differences in quality? Car is 77 911 used for street/DE.

Most 911 CV's are made by Lobro. These are considered excellent CV's by most and hold up well to most track events if maintained.
There are now lots of manufacturers producing CV's, some for racing that probably would not be as ideal for street use and the require more maintenance.
My local foreign car parts store sells a 911 axle assembly with rebuilt CV's. I've often wondered what brand CV they use as they quote a price of 125.00 for the whole assembly. Seems cheap...

I have only experience with Lobro Cv joints. However I have seen Lobro joints sold by many aftermarket vendors. I was supprised to find a local drive line shop stocking Lobro joints by size. They were laid out on a shelf. You simply picked the size you needed.

I found that our local Rockford dealer carries a wide range of Lobro parts under Rockford part numbers. The prices are right. He will also reband the joints when I get done rebuilding them, for free. With this knowledge, I am really amused when I look at the pricing for Porsche CV's.

Be careful of rebuilt CV's. I bought a pair from performance products and they were assembled backwards and had to be returned....
