Soft window targa handle disassembly
 

I have an extra set of handles that I'm not going to use. One of the handles could benefit from a rechroming job and I was about to put in an order for my Corvette restoration. Might as well add this in.

My question is how to take the non-chromed worm peg off the chromed handle. I see a pin that holds it. It's either a single that goes all the way through or two going in from each side. Anyone ever take one apart? Do I just tap the pin out?

The other option is to just rechrome it all together. The additional area that is chromed is not seen anyway!

I've had a few hinge-like things chromed that were impossible to disassemble without killing them. They come back a bit stiff, but after working them and sweating in some lube they all functioned ok.
