2.2 MFi 1970 : idle issue

Hi ya ,

I've a problem of idle on my 2.2 MFI 1970,

Bosch pump is just rebuilded by a professionnal guy,

All works fine ,start immediatly , runs great ,

BUT the idle increases when the engine start to be hot , after some seconds.

What could be the reason of this problem please ???

Thanks !!!

Ced'

It's normal for the idle to increase as it warms up. You push the hand throttle down as it warms up to regulate idle. Once it's fully warm and with the hand throttle all the way down it should idle around 950 RPM.

How much idle increase are you seeing? What RPM does it idle at when warm?

Is the hose between your exhaust and MFI pump connected?
That is assuming your warm up regulator is correctly set.

Thanks mates for the reply ,

Yes , the hose is correctly connected to the pump ,

When i start the engine , the rpm is around 1000/1100 , and starts to increase after a few seconds , for finally stabilise at 3000 rpm.

3000 RPM with the hand throttle up or down? Depending on adjustment, hand throttle in the full up position can raise the RPM that high. Just trying to check/eliminate the simple things first...

throttle bodies too much free play

That's right , the simples things first................i'm going to check twice.

Too much free play in the throttle bodies , yes , that could , but i doubt caus' the entire system was verified during the fuel pump rejunavation.

But i'm going to check that point so ,

Sinceres thanks for all that help , really appreciated mates ,

As soon as done , i'll inform you of the result.
