Door threshold scuff plate: aluminum vs rubber?
Hey all - newbie here - just got a 1970 911T Targa and a PO did a complete body strip respray but didn't include/replace the door sill scuff plates. I've read that only the S model had aluminum scuff plates, and there are photos I've seen that show a rubber version. What is correct for this car? Thanks

FWIW, my 73.5T had aluminum. That said, I think many cars were spec’d with “S trim” and maybe this was part of that spec?

My 71 T Targa has the Comfort Package (aka S-Trim) and features silver metal scuff plates (never checked to see if these are aluminum or stainless). Car was built in July of 1970 as a 1971 model (35th assembled for 1971 MY) and features a lots of 1970 pieces. My guess is your 70 would be similar although I can't say what a car without the Comfort Package should have.
