Some progress to report. The door handles and pockets needed a lot more massaging than we originally anticipated. They are now wrapped in leather. I like how they help tone down the plaid door cards. The front section of the rear seat delete- complete with hide-away 8 track holder- is almost done. Still need to tack down and polish the metal trim around the opening and add the luggage straps to the top. Steve keeps telling me he has a few more "surprises" in store. Thinking it might be rolling out of the interior shop this weekend.

Correct on Hotel California. And close on the other guess. But it is actually Robin Zander and Tom Petersen of Cheap Trick. HAHAHA

I DO like the Heart suggestion though

Well, here's is pretty much the final product without the window cranks and door lock knobs. I am really happy with how it looks and Steve's work. I'll try to post some pics of the whole interior later this week. Been sick all weekend so I couldn't pick up the car.

Well, the interior is getting some attention "out there". I figured it would as Steve is pretty savvy at the whole social media thing. Apparently Rutledge Wood (of Top Gear - America fame) is a fan. It still needs some tweaks but they are minor. Something I haven't shared yet are the seat covers. Before anyone goes nuts, these are easily removable. As a kid who grew up in the '70's, these just feel fun to me. It wasn't easy finding the right fabric that could match the interior, but oddly easier than finding the upholstery grade plaid. .

This pic shows the paint and interior colors all together. Glad we didn't wrap the roll bar.

and the aforementioned seat covers.

Ditto.
I usually don't like tartan door and rear panels. Too busy.
But your color combination works. Definitely something to be proud of.

And those seat covers are crazy... I need to search for a pair of those in Guards red and cork

Thanks. I read this post out loud to my wife this morning. She may have injured herself during her eye rolling.

THanks. I generally feel the same. But yeah, it just somehow worked in this combo. Never thought a bolt of fabric from eBay would be the unifying component of a 3-year+ build. But somehow, it is.
